National Park of Cilento and Vallo di
Diano
 The National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano, founded in 1991, covers a large area of southern Campania, bordered to the north by the flat of Paestum, in the east by Vallo di Diano, west and south by the Tyrrhenian Sea (south more precisely is wet from the waters of the Gulf of Policastro).
The area of the park is not only large but also varied, because it includes both mountain environments, with peaks ranging from 1898 m to 1130 Cervati upstream of Mount Stella, is hilly areas, both marine environments of great beauty and variety, the most important of which is Palinuro Cape. Nature is still wild and unspoiled, especially in more remote areas, roads travelled by rare. Pure, almost as if time has stood still magically, the memories of ancient civilizations and cities are frequent disappearances and imposing.
Flora and fauna
 The flora and fauna of the park are uniques. As soon as they cross the border, down from the mountains to the sea, was attacked as having intense in the maquis, of "euforbia arborea", of "elicriso", of cistus, lentisk, myrtle and rosemary.
A spring color hills of yellow broom and fragrant thorny and half to wet dew orchids flourish. But the symbol of the Park is perhaps the "Primula di Palinuro" ( Primrose ), which takes its name, the same name as the mithologycal helmsman of Enea unfortunate that the legend wanted kidnapped from those limpid waters but wild, landed in this place because of a sleep traitor. The primrose grows from the cracks of the rocks of the promontory on the coast and the surrounding area, within a radius of no more than fifty kilometres.
It is considered a rarity by botanists, almost a living fossil, and is considered the founder of all primroses spontaneous Europe, the only one that has chosen to live near the sea. It blooms very soon, in late winter, not just the air of early spring Cilento ago presaged the glory of summer to come.
